The Kentucky Baseball Umpire Schools are weekend camps that feature Major League Umpires as instructors. They include Greg Gibson, Charlie Reliford, Larry Vanover and Sam Holbrook. Scott Kennedy, who umpires at the AAA level, and Jack Kennedy (former pro umpire) serve as the primary instructors at the camps. They are the only camps sanctioned by the KHSAA to qualify umpires for postseason tournaments. Dates for 2005 weekend camps are:

February 19-20 at St. Henry High School in Florence, KY and February 25-26 at Pleasure Ridge Park H.S. in Louisville, KY.

All camps will provide opportunities to umpire during a live scrimmage (weather permitting). Bring your equipment and be ready to work. Registration fee is $75. Contact Andy Strain at (270) 351-7375 (ajstrain@aol.com) for more information. Registration forms can be found on the KHSAA web site at http://www.khsaa.org/baseball/2005/khsaabaseball2005camp.pdf (you will need Acrobat on your computer).
